That is awesome.  It is amazing how great we feel about doing the things that we never even imagined before.  You had an excellent time for a first time runner.  Keep up the work, and your time will get better and better.

Hi Lisa, I just had gastric bypass 5 weeks ago and I too got nervous about 2 weeks before. I hadn't been up until that point...it hit me this was really happening! The hosp stay was 2 nights, pain was moderate. Feels like you've done 1000 situps. Sitting down/standing up is abit painful the first few days, but I found tolerable, was off pain meds 4 days after. After the 1st week, it gets WAY better! I started back to work last week. Just follow the dr orders, make sure you're walking after surgery and follow the menu...esp drink ur protein! I am thrilled I did this, although I remember laying in the hosp the first day thinking "what did I do??". Best wishes to you!
