Hi Lisa,

I had the gas too, but it goes away in about a week. Getting all the required liquids in is still a challenge 7 weeks post op! As far as pills, I had to crush them for 2 weeks, but we have different surgeons. That was the worst!!! Good luck!

Lisa,
The gas lasts about 7-10 days, but the more you walk the better it moves its way out.  It is hard because you get air in while you are drinking and that causes gas as well.  Just remember no straws, and sip sip sip.

As for pills, if it is smaller than an M&M you should be OK in about 3 weeks, but double check with Dr. Gens before making the switch.

Let us know if you need anything, Sam & the boys are home this week if you need anything.

Glad you are home and doing better.

Hubby had labs at both 3 & 6 Months.
As for Popcorn, with RNY they told hubby be careful and wait for 6--9 months before trying.

Just enjoy the day and what you can eat.  You don't want to pu**** too fast.  better to be safe than sorry.

have a great day.

Hi Cindy
First labs are @3 months. Yes you can have popcorn again.  I am almost at 3 months and have been eating it for the last 2 weeks with no problems. You will get there.

It's probably in our paper work, but I don't rememeber seeing it.  1. When do we have our first set of labs done after surgery? Is it 3 months? 6 months?  The other thing I was wondering about was can we ever have popcorn again?  If so, when?  Thanks to all who can help!  cindy

Hi,
I am 4 days post-op and I am doing ok.  It is very hard to get all the liquids I need in, I have extreme stomach rumblings and gas bubbles whenever I drink anything, is this normal, when does it get better?

When were you able to swallow a pill?  I take mirapex for restless legs and have been crushing it and mixing with pudding, but it is still gross.

Thanks
Lisa
