Topic: RE: support for spouses
I am not sure if this will hel*****t, but for me I know I am pre-op, but just reading on the different message boards has helped me with the changes my husband has had post op.
If he wants to chat just let me know. I am actually the spouse, and I am going through the process myself. You can drop me a PM and I am willing to chat with him if he would like, or he could chat with my hubby.
Hope things go better for you.

I had RY in January and I have had popcorn... No problems for me. Love it. Orbille light mini bags...

I know that spouses are welcome at the CMC support group meetings. Last Wednesday of the month at 6pm. There are a few people who have mentioned coming with their spouse does help.

Thanks all! Wondered about the labs as I have been kind of tired and am wondering about my iron.. It has been low off and on most of my life. As for the popcorn, not really big on it, but kind of had a craving for it lately so i was just wondering. Thank you all! Cindy
Topic: support for spouses
The forum for spouses isn't really updated too much and my husband and I have been having serious issues. It came out that he doesn't know how to handle all the changes I've gone through so fast from being a fat blob (I call myself) last summer, to being extremely into fitness and nutrition now and from a size 20 to a 12 and all the extra energy and confidence I have now. He feels it has contributed to the problems we are having because he doesn't know how to handle the new me. Is there anything in the Manchester area for spouses to talk about what they're feeling about all the changes that have been going on in their spouses lives as well as their own?

Hi Dave,
Glad to hear it's not just me! What you said is exactly what happens with me...plateau for a couple weeks + boom down 5 or so lbs and stuck again. I hope in a month or so it will start coming off alittle quicker! Thanks for the reply! Jen

i am 12 weeks out and i have been dealing with this up till the last 3 weeks.. i would go 2 weeks and not lose anything then i would lose 5-7 lbs in 3 days now i seem to be losing a lot steadier .... but i am eating more so your NUT is probably right..i feel your pain with getting stuck it seemed like i was doing it all the time! it has been much better the last 2-3 weeks ... i am guessing that everything is finally healed up and my swelling has gone down( just a guess)..

Hi Cindy,
I have the band, and I still waited a very long time before having popcorn. I was concerned about it getting stuck, and I only eat one at a time now! I love the 100 calorie packs, it is the perfect size.

Topic: grrrrr....plateaus!
So I'm 7 weeks post op + I feel like I should be losing much faster! I'm only down about 20-25lbs and it seems I keep hitting these plateaus!! I don't understand it, I can't eat much, I'm eating the recommended foods + exercising at the gym 4 days a week. Has anyone else run into this? The nutritionist mentioned I may not be eating enough, so I did that + it seemed to work but I'm stuck again! Just aggrivated! Any advice or anyone gone through this?
Jen :)
