Hi Dianne,

Sorry I didn't keep the phone number but for the blue card you need to call the main number for Mass General. Tell them you need to get a blue card number. They will send you to the right dept.  Also ask them for the number for the Residency Clinic for PS...be specific with them so they give you the correct number. When I called I really made it clear that I wanted the residency clinic then I said it was for a plastic surgery consult.

The first time I called I asked for the clinic for PS and they gave me the regular PS dept. they charge full price and I almost fainted at that one...just for the TT was 18k...so make sure you tell them the Residency clinic save yourself the grief...lol

My girlfriend did not have harvard pilgrim...but you never know some times they will pay for the extra skin to be removed (not a TT) and if your not too bad that might be all you would need. But just let them submit the charge and the worst that the  ins co will say is no then MGH will bill you....

I just wanted to start me morning sharing this great story...

With all the rain yesterday, I was wearing my raincoat (which I have had for several years and is the size I wore at my largest).  I went to my sister's house last night.  She is my twin and weighs about 160lbs.  I have lost 133 so as an experiment, I asked her to get into my coat with me.  Weird, I know, but that's how we twins do things :-).  Anyway when she did, I could still zip my coat and said this is how my coat fit last year, I could barely zip it then, i have almost lost a full self off my body!!!
That was the most startling, amazing, and yes happy revelation I've had in a long time.  I'm still carring that happy feeling in my heart today.

I hope you all have a great day!

Hi Laurie:

Do you have a phone number or is it just the main number for Mass Gen to get your blue card?  Also, did your girlfriend also have Harvard Pilgrim?  I have BC/BS NE so I don't think they cover PS unless there is a medical reason but it will be worth it!!

Hi Jamie,

Call Mass General first you need to have a Blue Card. Takes 5 minutes, a few ?? to answer and they will give you a blue card number on the phone and you will get the real thing in the mail. Just looks like a credit card, but you will be asked for it every time you go.  Then call back, number in hand and tell them you want to have a consult with the Residence Clinic for PS.  I would make sure when they transfer you that it is the clinic and not the regular PS dept. if they send you there the cost is astronomical. They will set you up for a consult...your first consult will be with the chief resident surgeon and any student doctor's in training. My girlfriend  had only 6 I hit the jackpot with 13 plus the surgeon  and nurse...they take pictures, ask you questions and do a quick exam. Then you wait for your 2nd consult appt when they tell you if you are accepted into the program( everyone I know was accepted so not to worry)
The 2nd appt you meet with only the surgeon He/She go over everything and schedule you for surgery.  Make sure to tell them your insurance info so you don't have to pay for the consult till your insurance approves or denies it. They will bill you if yoru ins. co. will not cover it. My ins co ( Harvard Pilgrim)
agreed to pay for my TT because I had my GBP with them and I'm sure the pics they sent them (headless of course) were frightening enough that they felt they had to help...lol
Good luck and if you need anything else just let me know...Laurie

That is a great feeling. I remember when I ran for the first time in March, then 3 weeks later I was in my first 5K race and have done 2 now. Running is so different and a wonderful experience.... Keep going and make sure you have good running shoes, they make a world of difference on your feet and legs.

Hey NHSKINNYGIRL, can you share with me who and how you got in to Mass General. I heard about that too and once I reach my goal I would love to have my girls lifted and a t/t.  Good have these resources.

Down 70 lbs. today and went out to Kohls at lunch to find skorts for the summer and am pleased to share SIZE 10...... Not a 10 in everything, but nice to start with skorts. And wearing size medium in tops and dresses..... this exercise and diet are really working well.... I owe a lot to my exercise partner who helps kick my butt, Thanks Ann. So good to share this journey with you...
