Thanks. I am excited for you! Best of luck today.
I have gone through all of the steps in my program. 6 weeks of classes. Support group meetings. Psych. eval. Loss the weight ... everything. I just need to see the surgeon and get a date but I am being told from here the appointment with the suregeon will be more than a month out and the surgery date a month after that. I started this in January! Again, I am just frustrated and will breath and use what I have learned.
Again, best of luck! Let us know when you can how it went.

So excited.  Can't beleive it.  Little nervous but not too bad.  Hardest part is killing time without drinking anything - I have become so programed to always have a water bottle in my hand!

Wish me luck!

I have my surgery today with the Portsmouth program & they are great!  The steps they make you go thru are there for a reason & I can't imagine going into an operating room & beyond without the preperation they have given me & the tools for success they have also helped develop.  I would recommend them without reservation if you do switch.  As long as you are doing your part, the process also moves along.  I went to the initial info session in March.

You should definately make sure you are working with a team that is responsive and with who you are comfortable.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do & work whatever program to its fullest.

:)

Thanks Dave! I actually did do a breathing exercise and it did help. You make some very good points. I too am glad I there is a program and it isn't just in and out surgery. I actually have learned a lot by taking the necessary steps. I am sure I will hear from the program shortly and feel better. Until then I will keep your words in mind and remember to breath lol. Thanks for listening to my vent and talking me down off the ledge lol.

i understand your frustration.. but take a deep breath and remember it took you many years to gain weight it will take time to go through the process to lose it... Portsmouth has a great program with great doctors and staff... i would say they are worth the wait !! i have had nothing but positive experience with them and  looking back i am very glad i went to a program that makes you go through all the steps.. i have a friend that went to another hospital and he did all of his "pre-op " stuff in one day... well he has not been nearly as successful as most of the people that i have seen go through the Portsmouth program..

just my opinions
good luck
Dave

I am starting to get frustrated with the whole process. It has been consuming my thoughts and my time since January and I still have yet to see the surgeon. I attended 6 weeks of classes. Had a dozen doctor's appointments. Was in the gym daily. I have completed my prerequisites including weight loss and can't even get an appointment to see a surgeon. I am ready to make this change. I know that it will be more than amonth from my meeting with the surgeon until my surgery date but at least I would be moving forward. At this point I am at a stand still.
Has anyone changed programs at this point? I have been readin about another program that seems more responsive.
