Topic: New here !
Hi !   I am new to the website/message board.  Started the process not long ago and have just recently been given my RNY date.  9/13/10.   I have attempted the process a few years back only to pass it up because of nerves.   I am set to do it this time but I have to admit,  I am terrified.  I really want /need this but again am terrified.  I have two little ones at home which is probably the main reason for my fears.

If anyone can shed some light on how they battled their fears w/having the surgery, I would love to hear them.  Anything can help at this point !!

Oh, and lastly, I am trying to get some ideas on what seems to be the best tasting protein drink as right now I am not having any luck w/the ones I have tried.

Thanks !!!

I went through the CMC program as well with Dr. Campbell and she was excellent as was the staff at the Obesity Treatment Center.  It is great support and they are always there to answer questions or provide a bit of encouragement.

When I started through the pre-op program I was going to have the LapBand, but I kept an open mind throughout the process and ended up having RNY.  If you attend the pre-op support groups and even some of the post-op support groups (prior to your procedure of choice) it will give you the opportunity to hear personal stories from many who have already gone through the program.

Good Luck!

Wow, you beat me to posting my plan.

Here goes for me.  I had a really good day yesterday also.  Down another .4. So basically I am where I started last week!  Oh well.  I even went to the gym last night, and hopefully will go again tonight.

Breakfast:  Muscle milk light shake with crystal light and smart balance milk

Snack:  I might sneak in a piece of thin sliced raisin swirl toast, but not sure.  Will put a small amount of peanut butter on it.

Lunch:  1/2 cup macaroni salad with 3 ounces tuna

Snack: Greek yogurt

Dinner:  I am not sure yet, but there is a piece of salmon in the freezer calling my name!

That is so good to know Kathy.  It is amazing how our bodies fight us.  When you think about it, that is a big difference between 1696 calories and 1200.  Like you said though, at least you know what you are up against, and you can make some adjustments.
