Thank you for posting on my post. Everything you said was so to the point and great. I made me think a little that I need to take this in a timely but safely mainor and I need to make sure that I don't ru**** cause this is the rest of my life I am trying to fix.

As you learned at the intro session, you will have to attend 2 preop support groups, and the 6 Lifestyles classs. You will also have a number of medical tests to take, meet with the PA, meet with the dieticians, loose a % of your current weight, etc.
But the journey is possible. I had GBP last Tuesday. I was out of bed and had a walk Tuesday evening. I was out of bed at 6am Wednesday & Thursday and by Thursday morning was cleared by PT to walk alone. 2 laps around the area.
But you are a way off from this point. You have 2 choices, wait for things to come to you and possibly have a long time till surgery. OR ask questions, fill out and submit paperwork, get appointments scheduled, attend all sessions ASAP. The more "Proactive" you are the more quickly you will proceed down the journey.
There is NO WAY I can say enough about the OTC staff, the PA's, the dieticians, Dr. Campbell, the nursing staff and the LNA's at CMC. I cannot say Thank you enough. They are ALL a true credit to their professions.
And finally plan how you will be able to take 4 weeks off. Sure you can go back in as little as 2, but this IS a Lifetime Journey and if you do not give yourself the SOLID base to start off with to learn, to become part of your life...You CAN screw this up. As Dr. Campbell said to me the other day...She expects 100% from herself, 100% from her staff and 100% from us her patients. No Less.

I had an over night stay and ALL of the surgery costs covered and it was only going to be about 3,000.00 or so. My arms and breasts (lift w/implants I went from a DD cup to a A cup)
also an over night stay and all costs for surgery and out of pocket I paid 5300.00 way less than the 12 to 15,000.00 I was quoted from a local PS. If you want more info pm me and I would be happy to give you the info...Good Luck with your journey...Laurie
so here is my plan for the day
Breakfast: egg/egg substitute scramble with low fat cheese and 2 wasa crackers
Lunch: 1 cup chili with low fat cheese
Dinner: Maybe steak. Don't really know yet, but Ill be sure to make it good
Dessert: No sugar added fudgesicle
I totally botched exercise yesterday. had to take the kid and myself to the dentist, then home to ***** to my father about work issues so I never made it to the gym. I WILL go tonight.... thats the plan; of course that hasnt gone so well this past week. Hope hubs keeps me in line like I told him too!
Well, Friday's plan is going to be as follows:
Breakfast: Greek yogurt and 1 baby bell cheese
I also have iced coffee with sugar free french vanilla
Lunch: 3 ounces cold salmon and 1/4 cup macaroni salad
Dinner: I am having some sort of wrap, that I will only eat half of, not sure what yet.
I also have cottage cheese for a snack.
This weekend will be tough because I am eating every meal out Saturday and Sunday. My buddy Dave will be with me, though so we can share meals also. There is a pool at the hotel, and a gym, so I can exercise, and we are going to do a ton of walking. My goal is to be at 70 pounds lost for Monday's meeting because I am speaking again, but I won't be discouraged if I don't get there. I am losing again though, which is awesome.
Very interesting, what do they do to get those numbers and where did you have that test done. I too am struggling with those extra pounds, I'm having exploratory surgery again, I think seeing Dr. B. on Tuesday for those same stomach issues that are getting worse, and I know mine is low as I have no energy and even with eatting 1200 or less each day I too gain and lose the same 5 lbs very fustrating....
Just want to remind you too meeting this Tuesday night with Dr. B same place same time...I posted the info and will call you if you want so you remember.
Monique may or may not attend she was in a terrible motorcycle accident on Sunday and is in a neck brace with a fracture to a disc in her neck, tons of bruises and lots of road rash...they are lucky to be alive.
Hope you can make the meeting...Laurie
Just a reminder that there is a support group in Nashua this Tuesday evening from 7- about 9 at the Nashua Senior Center on Temple St.
Nice group, Dr. Brown is attending and it is open to anyone, post ops pre ops and anyone looking into having surgery for weight loss. Please come join us....we love to meet new friends and Dr. Brown is great about answering any questions you may have...
Have a great day everyone....Laurie
Congrats and I bet my Doctor will be assisting during your surgery, Dr. Brown is Dr. Ameri's partner now. You are in great hands with either or both of them. As for nerves, that is normal esp. with little ones at home, but that being said, the quality of life that you will have getting the weight off will make your time so much more fun when they are growing.
I wrote letters to all my love ones and left a note for my husband so he would find them if needed....I had a great time ripping them up once I got home. Just breathe and you will be on the road to health shortly.
As for the protein don't stock up on too much ahead of time your tastes do change after surgery. I like either Atkins ready made or for powders I like Lean Dessert Protein powder that you can get at Vitamin Shoppe.
Lastly, I would like to invite you to join Dr. Brown's support group here in Nashua. Its this coming Tuesday evening at the Nashua Senior Center on temple St. It's a great group and Dr. Brown usually attends so please join us. The meeting goes from 7-8:30 or 9 depending on how chatty the group is with questions. Hope you can join us....Good luck...Laurie
