Topic: RE: Dr. Gens
I had Dr. Gens to my Gastic Bypass on 3/25/08.  So it's been over four years.  I just saw Dr. Gens for my annual check up this past March.  He ordered the normal nutrition profiles that people like us should have but had.  And everything came back just great.

Having plastics on Tuesday.  The surgeon requires seeing your last (and it has to be recent) bloodwork before they will consider you for surgery, as well as a letter from either your regular doctor OR Dr. Gens in order to give the okay.  I had no problems with that.

He's a great doctor, he did a great job.  I wish I'd done it sooner.  The whole practice is your sucess with this, use all those tools Jeff gave your and you'll suceed.  If you're struggling at any point (and at some point you will have struggles, it's part of every journey) - go to support group, talk to Jeff, use your tools, hub-and-spoke your problems.

Best of luck!

Topic: Weird thoughts

OK this is what was going through my head at 4 am while washing my hair, weird I know.  Just throwing it out there to see what anyone thinks.

Saggy, baggy wiggly skin
I can now see a dimple in my chin.

I have bat wings, but I can not fly
Wait is that a sparkle in my eye.

The stretch marks are showing,
 but my face is glowing

size 24 was what I wore
size 10 is now in my drawers.

People would look around or through me,
Today they all want to be me.

I love my saggy baggy skin,
It is a triumph of where I have been.

Chin up, smile out, This is me happy no doubt!

Thanks for letting a woman with out coffee ramble.  :-)

Saturday my daughter, Amanda and my friend Kristen took part in the Chief Maloney Memorial Run/Walk.  It was a 5.6 mile run.  I had never run that long before in my life!!!!!  What an amazing experience.  My daugther, Amanda and I are in the first picture, and my friend joins us in the third picture.  It was a windy day, but I managed to run more than 4.5 miles of the race.  The best part was when my grandson came out yelling "I love you Bamma" and ran with me.  I finishing running with a time of 1 hour 28 minutes 27 seconds!  I was 1450 out of more than 2200 participants.  My friend Kristen and her co-worker (woman in the white hat) finished in 1 hour 3 minutes and my daughter finished in 1 hour 11 minutes.

This weekend I am running the Barrington Peeper 5k race, and next weekend the Bobcat Bolt 5k in Durham!  These should be a piece of cake!!!

Ok here are some pics of the dress, and wedding cakes I made for this past weekend.  Today I have been married for 6 years and we took the weekend to celebrate and just enjoy each other.
It felt so great to dress up and enjoy the day.

Topic: RE: ? For the Ladies
Hi Sookie,

I had problems with them prior to surgery, but nothing since.  My doctor did tell me that do to the weight loss, I might find more, but only because I could feel them better.  It is possible that they were there, but buried in the breast tissue.  She also said that the mammogram might be able to pick up any issues due to the less dense breast tissue.

Hang in there, I know it is a very stressful time going through it myself.  Let me know if you need someone to talk to!
