Topic: Band struggles
So my band issues continue!  I went in for an additional fill three weeks ago, and was right back in the next day, taking what was put in right back out.  I could not even drink water.  It has been so hard to not eat my emotions these last two months.  My running has helped, but I am still struggling with my eating.  Last Thursday, I had one cc of saline added, and I am feeling more restriction, and it seems to be working a bit more, but I have gotten into that rut of eating wrong that it is so hard to get out of that mode!

I talked to Dr. Gens about what is causing all of this.  I have gone almost 4 years with no issues.  He has ordered an upper GI for me and I go in next Monday.  He is not sure if the band has slipped or not.  If it has, I have some major decisions to make. Meanwhile, I am going to continue to run and try and make better decisions!

I have never heard of it, but I would definitly do some research.  Don't forget, some procedures are just like that, you do not see the benefits right away.  Good thoughts and prayers are with you and your son!

Has anyone heard of Cardiac Ablation for Afib?
Sometimes its called Catheter Ablation.
Curious if it help the AFib.
My 36 yr old son is due to have the Ablation next week and from he was   told you can not tell
right away if it worked.

I am so worried it won`t work, he has Afib almost everyday and hours at a time, meds just made it worse and side effects were terrible.
Thanks

Jennifer

Hi Everyone,

It is legal, but I would highly recommend that you do not prepare your own will or other documents. The only document that you can prepare by a simple form is the Healthcare Power of Attorney.  Your local hospital has what they call an Advanced Directive that you can fill out and put on file with the hospital and doctor.  I have been a paralegal for over 16 years, and I worked primarily in the Estate Planning-Probate field for 14 of those years.  Self made wills are pretty much a disaster. There are so many little things that the average person does not know.  There are many good attorneys out there that will do a simple will, power of attorney, and healthcare power of attorney at a very reasonable cost.  Spending $500 or so now can save you, or your estate hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the long run.

Wills do not need to be recorded with the probate court until you die, and only if everything you own is in a trust or jointly owned. They do not need to be recorded at the registry either.

If anyone needs the name of an attorney, I will gladly pass some names along.  But please for the sake of your family, do not use the generic forms.

I did not go through the CMC program, so I can't help with that choice, but I am glad you jumping in here.   Welcome and ask away, every journey starts with a single step, so you are doing well already.  Welcome and good luck.

Topic: Just Starting Out
So, I've decided that I want to have the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I'm planning on CMC but not sure of which doctor, any suggestions? Campbell or Catania? I'm probably waaaay ahead of myself because I haven't even seen my PCP yet. I see her on the 12th. I'm registered for the info session on the 19th. Anything I'm missing? I'll accept all the help any one can give me :)

I believe that you have to file with the County court house for your County.  Like Strafford, Rockingham or where ever you live.  You can call the court house and they will tell you what you need to do to file the paper work.

Keep up the great work.  I hope to get to the meeting soon, DH & I have had some other issues unrelated to our RNY.  Hope to catch up with you soon.  I have coffee every morning. Not what they recommend but my 1 vice I can't seem to break.
