Hi everyone! Surgery went very well. It sure is nice to be back home. Food on the other hand is not very easy to eat, not much of an appetite. Gas is evil LOL But other than that all is well. Thanks for all the prayers, talk to you soon. Priscilla*

Welcome Home, Glad to hear everything went well. I use to cry when my husband made me drink my protein shake, didn't want it, didn't want anything, but it gets easier. Jennie

Hey Priscilla-- Welcome home!! Glad to hear you made it safely through! I found the first 3 weeks the most challenging, then it got much much easier. I also found you can bite the Gas-X capsules (or generic were fine as well) -- they just taste minty-- and it helps the gas A LOT. (You of course discard the capsule after you swallow the liquid and it's such a tiny amount I found this easier than the liquid Gas-X.) I am 6 weeks postop and I can eat almost anything that is within my low fat low sugar guidelines without difficulty. I also took some digestive enzymes when I was on pureed foods (with the okay of my dietician) and that seemed to help get me through until my body figured out how to handle this new digestive system! These are things that helped me; we all have to check with our own health care providers as good common sense! Also Lactaid is good if you think you might be sensitive to milk. I thank God I am not!!! I live on milk based products. Gentle hugs to you and welcome home. There is LOTS of room on the loser's bench for all of us. 41 lbs for me as of this morning . Valerie Z
