New to site (again)
Hi everyone, I am new to this site sort of. About a year ago i posted some stuff but then chickend out on the surgery. Tis wasnt the first time i chickened out though however I decided around christmas i was going to do it. I am getting the gastric bypass and i am 99% way through the process. I have done all my tests, and i received medical clearrance this past monday. I have one more support group to go to on Wednesday. They told me my paperwork will go out to insurance on Thursday and they estimate my surgery to be early may. Its funny I have thought of this for years. Chickened out three times and this time I have felt great though the whole prcess until now. I am really starting to get nervouse... Anyway I live in nashua nh and would love to talk to anyone who is getting or has received the surgery...
Thank you!
Jason
Hello Jason,
I am having the Lap Band with Dr Brown. In fact I am having mine next week the 12th. Wow you got through the whole process so quick. I couldnt maintain my weight so took me over a year. But now its here 6 days to go. I know I am getting Nervous as well. Which one are you having? You know whats weird i found a link somewhere on this site to watch them do the lapband (was live at the time) it calmed me down.
Well if want to talk I am here... I also let you know how it all went on Wed. Doubt I will head down to the metting Wed. Night but certainly write here to me.
Good luck with your surgery..
You must be so excited... I have maintained my weight so far so good. I wanted to have more of a buffer but it hasnt seemed to happen. However I am about 3lbs roughly lower then when i started.... I got my medical clearance and everythign I am jsut waiting to go i am sooooo excited.... I have made it through the program very fast all in all because this is the only the third support group offered since i started... anyway best of luck to you... I am really excited for you!
Best of luck Jason! And hang in there-- nerves are completely normal, but after the first 2 weeks (I had Roux-N-Y) things have gone very well. The pain was only difficult the first week. Then the weight starts to come off, and you feel better all the time (with the normal everyday bumps in the road). Good luck! Valerie
Welcome back, Jason. I'm glad you have decided to go through with it. I had my surgery last summer with Dr. Drinkwater in Nashua before he left. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am at my goal weight and I am still losing. I don't remember the last time I felt so healthy. Good luck to you.
Jason,
Good luck and congratulations on getting through the whole process. I had surgery last August and have lost 140 pounds. I am so happy I did this. I am smaller now than I was when I was 12 years old. I still see the same person in the mirror, guess it takes a while to catch up, but I am loving shopping in normal stores!
Best wishes to you-
Carrie
