Good morning! Question about new pain
Good morning everyone!! It's finally sunny here over on the VT border. We made the decision we are moving to NC about 2 weeks ago, put the house on the market 1 week ago, and the realtor told us 2 days ago he thinks we will have offer(s) in 1-2 WEEKS!! YIKES!! So needless to say we have been cleaning and packing, first to get house ready to show, now to get things packed up for moving. I'm sure I've been overdoing it some and now I have a sharp pain just to the left of my incision. Hurts most when I am lifting something (even light things now). I know I need to stop lifting, and I have my binder back on, but has anyone done this? Do you think I pulled a muscle, or strained it as it was healing, or God forbid a hernia?? I dont see anything pouching out. I am seeing my PCP early next week and I will have her look at it. I see my surgeon (in Pennsylvania) on 4/13.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Valerie,
With all that you have been doing lately getting ready for you move you probably did just pull a muscle, try sitting in a warm bath and see if that helps at all but I would definately have your Doctor look at it.
Good Luck on your upcoming move, it is pretty funny I think we might be heading your way. My husband and I were talking the other night and he asked me about South Carolina, I guess someone called to tell him there will be a Port Operations Officer (Civilian) job opening up and he will be retiring soon. I told him I don't care where we go when he retires from the Navy as long as he has a job and I can finally purchase a house (Don't have to worry about being transferred in a year).

Dear ValerieZ - I can't offer any words of wisdom as to whether you have pulled a muscle or what else might be the cause of the pain you are having - but it does sound like you have been overdoing it a bit lately!! I know there is much to be done to pack up the house and prepare for the move, but try to avoid lifting so much!!!
Where in NC are you planning to settle? I used to live near the coast - MCAS Cherry Point, NC. My husband loves the Charlotte area (he is a NASCAR race fan). I would certainly consider relocating to that area again after I retire. Abbreviated winters are beginning to sound very attractive as we get older!
I hope you will keep in touch with us after you relocate. We would most certainly miss your posts if you abandonded us for the NC board.
All the best to you and Howard..... Bonnie
Hey Jenny and Bonnie-- thank you both for your kind support! Isnt it funny we are all having connections with the Carolinas and NH? LOL. We are planning a move to the Greensboro area which is north central NC, close to the VA border. My sisters are much closer to the coast but it is too hot there for me!!! Yes, I'm definitely doing too much but it's hard to just have my husband doing it; I feel guilty. But any lifting hurts so I know I need to let my abdominal muscles rest and heal (hopefully).
Thanks again!
