HELP!!
HI,
I need some help. If there are any NH people out there who can give me the name of a good gastric bypass surgeon & any other info on the process of having surgery it would be greatly appreciated. My daughter who will be 38 this May called me earlier & informed me that she is thinking about having the surgery. If she was in NJ there would be no problem because I myself had the surgery 5 yrs ago, but being she is so far away that causes a problem, because I know of no Drs. outside of NJ.
Thank you.
Susan
Hi, Susan,
I have heard good things about the programs at Dartmouth-Hitch**** Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire and, of course, the Obesity Treatment Center at Catholic Medical Center right in Manchester, New Hampshire - where I will be having WLS. Please type Catholic Medical Center and New Hampshire into your search engine and when you get to their page you can access the Obesity Treatment Center through their programs section.
My impression - and I would be delighted to be wrong, so you NH ladies please chime in and correct me if warranted - is that there are not a whole lot of WLS centers in our lovely state and that at the moment there's more demand than there is supply.
If you would like to e-mail me (it goes to my work so I would be able to respond tomorrow, March 29) I would be happy to give you the e-mail address for Melanie Davis, who is the coordinator of the Obesity Treatment Center at CMC. It is a small program but the staff are wonderful and the pre- and post-op resources are excellent.
With best wishes to you and your daughter,
Anne
Hi Susan, I had surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago at Saints Memorial Medical Center, in Lowell, MA by Dr. Michael Jiser. They have an excellent program and I was so impressed by their Weight Management Team. Dr. Jiser is the chief of surgery at this hospital, but he has done many bypass surgeries and he is absolutely wonderful, confident, and very skilled. The hospital stay was excellent and the staff very caring and concerned. The hospital and the Weight Management Clinic are all located on one campus together, with free parking available. Lowell, MA is only about 20 miles from Manchester. Tell your daughter to email if she wants more information: jennb40@comcast.net

I have not had the surgery yet and I am considering lapband surgery but I have a friend *****cently had the surgery at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester with Dr. Campbell and she is very very happy with her choice, with the program and with her surgeon. I however am not a fan of CMC because of some family issues there and I am leaning toward the program at Saints Memorial in Lowell, Mass, a very convenient commute from Manchester. I have heard super super things about the program at Saints. Hope this helps and by the way you look absolutely terrific.
