Food Log 3/14
I like Valeries idea of making this board more active, one of the things that we do on the CT board is a food log a day so I thought I would start one....
B- Protien Bar (10)
S- Didn't feel like having a mid morning snack
L- Turkey slices (7)
S- Well lets face it I am not a snacker
D- Pork Ribs and Corn (14)
S- Protien Shake (need it to get in the protien for the day) (24)
Protien-55 grams

Interesting idea! I am 3 weeks postop tomorrow and Barix Clinics seems to have people progress more slowly than some others I have read about. I am still on full liquids until tomorrow-- cant WAIT to have pureed foods!! My protein goal for each day is 67 grams. At present I usually have:
B- hot chocolate (diet made with milk and protein powder) total protein 34grams.
S-sug free(SF) fat free (FF) pudding or jello
L- soup
S- prune juice (diluted half and half with water)
D- soup
S- SF FF yogurt
I'm getting 65-90 grams of protein a day, necessary for healing (open RNY)

WOW 67 grams is hard, I am almost 4 months post op and I am having a hard time eating, it is not that I get sick I just don't want to eat. But my surgeon told me I need to get in 50-60 grams of protien a day that is the magic number he told me any less or any more I won't lose, now of course every surgeon is different. But when I went in for my 3 month check up I was only getting in around 30-40 he told me don't worry it would come in time, well it still really hasn't come. He doesn't like me doing protein supplements but I have to, in order to get my protein intake up.
I remember waiting to get on pured foods the first thing I had was a scrambled egg and it tasted so great, I just missed the fact of being able to chew something. Good Luck.
