Hi everyone - thank you all so much for your words of wisdom and support the last couple of days. I actually have some news to report! Dr. Campbell's office called me yesterday and said there was a change in the surgery schedule and that she would actually be able to see some patients. So my appointment that was scheduled and then cancelled, became scheduled again (I know, worse than a soap opera) and I did see Dr. Campbell this morning. We discussed the surgery (my husband was able to attend and we both had questions) and she examined me and all that good stuff. Long story short, after meeting with her, my surgery is now scheduled for April 4th - yes folks, this is a REAL DATE. I asked for this date because the one they were going to give me was right in the middle of the vacation my husband and I will be taking in March - RV roadtrip to Florida - and I didn't want to have to cancel it. So, after a couple of emotional roller coaster days, I seem to be back on track. I wish I could say I was as excited now as I was the first time I thought I had a date....but that just isn't the case. I am sure I'll get more excited as the days begin to count down. I received some great suggestions and support from so many of you and want to thank you all again for responding. No one quite understands how this all feels as well as someone who has already been down this road or is currently traveling it. You're the best! Bonnie

Hey Kym - thank you for the support! I am awful about taking pictures - I'm not photogenic AT ALL. Have you decided where you'll go for your post op care yet? I read Chris' post about feeling like an orphan since Dr. D's program is closing (or has it closed already?). Chris - if you're reading this, I know how you feel. I felt orphaned when I left to go to CMC. It is tough to establish relationships with new people, especially when you were REALLY HAPPY with the old people. Thank goodness for this site so we can all sorta keep tabs on each other! I always look forward to everyone updating their profiles or posting...it really motivates and inspires me when I read of someone losing tons of weight and feeling great. Kym, you're looking like a million bucks! Congratulations. I can't wait to become a loser, too! Keep in touch! Bonnie

Bonnie, I am so glad to hear that you got a date! I read your first post about Dr. Campbell's office giving you the run around about your appointment, and it made me hesitant to switch to that program! I am glad you got a date, that is such great news and April will be here before you know it! I see Dr. Drinkwater this week for my last appointment, then I HAVE to finally switch to a new program because I am only 4 months out and need follow-up. Good luck! Amy

Thanks, Amy. It sure has been a rollercoaster ride so far. I think the CMC program is OK, but not at the same level as Dr. Drinkwater's program was. I don't know if it is because that they are overwhelmed with new patients all of a sudden (Dr. Campbell does lap band, too) and just aren't equipped to handle the load or if they simply aren't as organized as Jen was. You were so lucky to have Dr. Drinkwater! Dr. Campbell seems knowledgeable (she has done about 130-140 lap surgeries) but she is (or seems to me to be) very young. I know she must be almost Dr. Drinkwater's age, but she LOOKS very young. She spend a lot of time with me and my husband answering all our questions and I felt pretty comfortable with her when I left her office. I'm looking forward to April 4 and know it will be here before too long......but the waiting has been tough, especially since I was supposed to have had surgery in November with Dr. D. Thanks for the good luck wishes. By the way, you look great in the pics in your profile. If you decide to join CMC, maybe I'll see you at a support group meeting! Best wishes, Bonnie
