NH Weight Loss Programs

Hello all, I met with my endocrinologist today, Dr. Savage at CMC, to discuss the possibility of WLS and he thinks it's a great idea. Tomorrow I will be contacting my PCP to check on insurance and hopefully start with a program really soon. I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback, good or bad, about the CMC and/or Elliot weight loss programs. Dr. Savage did not recommend one over the other, although we talked more about CMC than Elliot. Any info is greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Nancy

Hello Nancy, Did you check over on the left hand side the hospital reviews and the Surgeon reviews. I know that you posted on the main board looking for information. That might help a little. I don't have any informaton we are in the process of moving to NH and I had my surgery in CT. Good Luck on your upcoming Journey..........Blessings Jennie

Nancy, I am exploring options for follow up as my surgeon is leaving the area. I had looked at several programs before & again now. Dr Gould at the Elliot only follows patients for 1 yr after surgery although the nutritionist & support groups are available. Dr Campbell at CMC is not anyone I would recommend. My family had a bad experience with her & CMC & I know nurses who worked with her who won't see her. I am going to probably continue my follow up care at Portsmouth per my MD recommendation. DHMC in Manchester is part of the program in Lebanon,NH They have a very rigerous program and have lifetime followup and support. Check it out at www.DHMC.org Karen

Hi Nancy. I had my surgery at CMC (I work for Elliot). Dr. Cambell was awesome. The staff at the CMC obesity center are all great. Becareful with Dr. Savage. He is not a good doctor at all. My mother died from thyroid cancer in 2000. I truly believe that if Dr. Savage took my mother's symptoms seriously instead of telling her she needs to lose weight she may still be alive today. She received terrible care from that office. My mother died a horrible death and I will never forget that. I don't want to scare you or anything, just beware of him. He doesn't have a good reputation in the medical community. Anyway, give CMC a call regarding gastric bypass, they are great. Ask for Melanie Davis. Good Luck Angie
