Hello Ladies, I just had my surgery Nov 30th and there is a great support group meeting here in Connecticut, but the Navy has other plans so we are moving to New Hampshire (in the process right now). It would be too difficult to try to come home on Wednesday nights for the meeting, way too late coming home at night and I would have to make the trip myself. My question is, is there a support group meeting in the Portsmouth area? I can't find any information on it. Any information would be helpful, I would like to stay active with a group as I am going through the process. Thank you, Jennie

I have not been, my Dr is in Nashua NH, but is leaving for a differnt hospital and we are all having to move to other programs. Anyway, the people from Portsmouth were very nice and came to meet with our group. The support meetings are every forth Monday at 6:30pm I belive. The Bariatric nurse Coordinator is Nancy Seesman, 603-436-5110 ext 2006. I am sure she can give you more info. Hope this helps!

Jennie, I am also one of Dr Drionkwater's patients looking for care. I spoke with Nancy at Portsmouth & she was very helpful. They are taking transfer patients & I am sure they have a suppoprt group as well. I hope you will be happy in NH. It is a great place to live. Pat

Portsmouth has two very active support groups thanks to Nancy Seesman, our Bariatric Coordinator. We have the general support group once a month. This group is open to the public so our spouses or support partners can attend with us. Many folks come in all phases of their weightloss journey to this group. The other group is a post-op group. This group is limited to post-op patients only. It does not matter where you had your surgery. We welcome everyone. I love this group because we're able to get more in depth with our questions and answers. We're very open and comfortable talking about most subjects, but if you're shy, that's okay too. Please call Nancy to get the specifics and come out to visit us.

The Post-Op support group is the 2nd Monday of the month at 5:30. The general support group is the 4th Monday of the month at 6:00. This link will give you more information about the PRH bariatric program, with support group info as well: http://www.portsmouthhospital.com/CustomPage.asp?guidCustomContentID={D3D28BFB-4FD8-45C3-A96A-2074E862DA4E} Hope this helps!

Thank you so much all, I probably will not make it in February but I am going to try in March. The Navy is packing us up this week and won't deliver to our new home until the first week of February, so things will be hectic for a little bit. Thank you all again. Jennie
