2 more days......
Shelley,
If you can have someone stay with you in the hospital
to help you move, walk, use the bathroom, etc, go for
it. Have some sugar free popcicles on hand for when
you get home. You may need to add water to the
crystal lite they give you in the hospital...also you may need
to ask for it.
Good luck

Good luck, Shelley. If you're having your surgery lap you'll be pleasantly surprised on your lack of pain (at least I was). The only reason why I used my morophine pump the 1st day was to help me deal with the NG tube & foley catheter. I wasn't able to shower until Wed. am & it felt fabulous. I brought my own toiletries from home. I brought some magazines to read & just spent my time strolling around the hospital.
Now if you have an open surgery, you'll obviously be much more sore. My advise to you is to walk, walk, walk. I know it's hard after abdominal surgery, but the sooner you do it the better it will be.
I didn't need anything at the hospital that I didn't have. They gave me broth, SF popsicles, crystal light, & water. It seemed pretty basic & uneventful to me. I wish you the same experience! Good luck!
