CMC Obesity tx center

Hi I am Dorie I am wondering if anyone has gone through CMC and what your experiences have been? I go to my first meeting in January. Would be so nice to talk to other people who are going through the same things as me. THanks Dorie

Hi Dorie - welcome! I have attended one support group session at CMC (in December) and it was fun - a pot luck/recipe sharing session. I have met Melanie, the program coordinator who seems very nice and she has also had the surgery so knows firsthand what we all go through prior to and after surgery. I transferred from another program to CMC and was lucky enough to be accepted at pretty much the same status as I was in the old program so don't have a lot of experience with CMC's program to share with you. I do have one thing to share though.....when you get to the point of having your appointment with Dr. Campbell scheduled, make sure your file has been sent to her office by Melanie. My appointment had to be rescheduled (for a month!) because they had not yet received the file from Melanie.....and boy was I disappointed! I'll be at the meeting in January so if you plan to attend, look me up! Bonnie

Hi, Dorie, I really like the CMC program - I have been to two support group meetings and have had my intake appointment and two weight checks (6 months of supervised weight loss efforts are required by my insurance company) with Melanie, who has been really great to me. I just moved and life has been really hectic, so I didn't attend the December pot luck supper meeting, but will attend the January session and hope to meet you there. Best wishes, Anne
