To all of us with big hearts and good intentions ... SNHMC just became aware of the intent of some of us bringin baby gifts for Jen and they were NOT happy! ( They monitor this website! ) This is against hospital policy. No gifts. No balloons. No nothing for Jen's baby ( other than a card ). Jen is in an awkward position, because imagine her shock when Risk Mgmt. called her this morning! I just happened to be at the office when they called her. So ... I'm afriad you'll have to give her a card and return the gifts

Hi Kym, So sorry I missed the meeting tonight. I ended up staying late at work due to a crisis. I received Jen's e-mail also, and was so bummed. I don't understand the concept as to WHY we can not give a gift to her for her baby? I have tried to understand but am stumped. I respect her wishes, however, and won't insist on giving her something but I see no harm in showing that we wish her and her baby well. She is a huge part of the Obesity Program and I just adore her to pieces. It would have been out of that that we gave her a token of our appreciation....why on earth would the hospital have such objections? Do you have any more info on this? I am so confused. Also, how was the meeting? I am SO BUMMED I missed it! Hugs, Denise

How about mailing the gifts to her home? that might get you around it.
