Newbie to the Forum

Hi Everyone, I am new to this part of OH, but very glad to have found that there is a group in NH! I have been attending the Support Group Meetings at Dartmouth Hitch**** in Manchester. I've had all the tests that are required and only have the last step of the 15 weight loss to fulfill. Has anyone here had their surgery with Dr Gould through Dartmouth Hitch**** in Manchester at the Elliot Hospital? Just as an aside, it really has helped me keep focused by being able to hear other peoples points of view on OH. Thank you, Everyone! Trudi

Have no experience with your doc or the hospital up here as I had my surg in pa before we moved up here but wanted to say hello and welcome to the board... Its slow but maybe we can liven it up some.... Take care Karen

Hi Trudi. I have not had my surgery yet, but it is scheduled for Nov 14 with Dr. Gould. The 15 lbs was the hardest part for me!! When did you start the process? I went to my first support group meeting in January, so it feels like I've been waiting forever! Patricia

Hi Patricia, It does seem like forever! My first meeting was in July, but I had started researching it in May and found out about Dr Gould and his team on the day of the June meeting, which meant that I couldn't start until July. I have to agree with you, losing the 15 pounds seems to be the most difficult part. Although, I'm very lucky in that my husband is very supportive (almost to the point of being militant about the diet, lol). Too bad he couldn't have been like that when I was gaining all the weight! Although, to be fair, we didn't know each other when I was a teenager! Are you going to be at the meeting on the 11th? I hope to be there and almost at goal weight then.
