As a pre or post op are you familiar with the term the last supper? Did you feel the need to have one final large meal prior to surgery or maybe even a whole month worth of last suppers? Did you gather with family and friends and how did you feel about yourself after you binged? If this sounds like something you or someone you know participated in before surgery, please send me a short email telling me about your experience for an article in OH Magazine. Please send comments to [email protected].

Ronda, I went out to dinner with friends and my husband the Saturday evening before surgery on Monday. I considered this my last supper and had dessert which I never had done on a regular basis whenever we went out before. I guess that isn't too exciting, but I enjoyed the whole meal and I just basically ordered whatever I wanted that night. I was not required to be on liquids or anything prior to surgery, the only thing I was told was not to eat a huge meal the night before surgery. I think I had basically been eating what I wanted for a few weeks. Chris
