Hi there, I am new to this board. My name is Jane and I am 5 pounds away from getting my surgery date. It has taken me a year to do everything required for surgery, including battling with my insurance!! UGH!! But FINALLY they APPROVED me, and it has been a whirlwind of activity since that point. I am hoping to get in before Thanksgiving. I am going to keep my fingers crossed. If anyone has ANY suggestions for me please feel free to share. Thanks, Jane

Jane, Welcome to the board. This can be a great site to get information from. The wait is worth it! I had surgery 3 days after Christmas last year-the best present I ever gave myself! I am 102 lb down & feel better than I have in 20 years. If we can be of any help with concerns about how to be prepared or anything just holler! Pat

HI Jane, Welcome!! One suggestion I have is to be patient!! I have lost all the weight needed, a month ago, have been to the psychologist, have been to every support meeting. Now it's a waiting game, following the nutritionist's advice ongoing. I even know my insurance pays for this, have known it from the start of the program in August. Good luck with everything! Cindy

Hi Jane, I had the same surgeon as you. I will be a year out in December. I love her. She is awesome. You will do just fine. You can do it. You will be so glad once your post op and putting up a fight. Hang in there! ~Jenn 338/170/165 - 168 pounds
