I cant find anything I like to drink now. I used to love Crystal Light and live off of it. Now I cant even stand it, it is too sweet. What are some things you all have done.... any suggestions? Also I am having a hard time finding real decaffinated Iced Tea.... *sigh*

Angela, I had the same problem in the immediate post op period. The only "flavored" drink I can have is crystal light iced tea, mixed with 1/2 extra water. I drink it thru a straw with lots of ice. Otherwise I just drink water, or sometimes fruit 2O. Good luck Karen

I was having the same problem, with the protein drinks too, all the ones I thought were ok before surgery now I can not get down. I finally found a protein drink I can stand, it is Nectar (not sure on spelling****d tea. I mix it up with crystal lite decaf ice tea and it is not bad. I got the info on one of the message boards here. I also am doing water for the rest of my fluids. I also ice down the protein drinks a lot to dilute the taste.

I got in a rut drinking the same Crystal Light all the time. what I started doing was making ice tea with the Celestial Seasonings herbal teas. I like the lemon zinger & manderin orange spice. add a little splenda to taste. made a nice change from the usual. best wishes diane

I usually don't post on this board (usually the Main Board...I forget about this one ) I LOVE sugarfree kool-aid. You wouldn't think it would be that good, but it is. I get mine at Wal-Mart. ~Jenn 338/170/165 -168 pounds

I had the same exact problem. Before surgery, I could drink 4-6 20-oz. bottles of water a day, drank lots of Crystal Light, etc. So it never occurred to me that I would have a problem getting liquids in. I had my surgery on August 25th and it took me forever to get to where I could drink water again without throwing it right back up. It scared me to death because I had to go back in the hospital the week after surgery with dehydration and pneumonia, so I didn't want to go back there, that's for sure! It's been almost two months since my surgery and I'm drinking water again without any problems, so that's a relief, but for weeks, I couldn't bear to even sip one sip of water. It would come right back up. I know this may sound repulsive, but while I wasn't able to drink water, I was able to drink Clamato Juice, a tomato ****tail thing put out by the Mott's company. It's usually in the grocery store by the tomato juice, etc. That kept me going while I couldn't handle the regular water. Anyone I've told this to makes a face like how can you drink something like that, but not one of those people have ever even TRIED it, so I'm not sure why they want to judge something they know nothing about. Anyway, it worked for me. I still drink apple juice, white grape juice, orange juice, etc., the low sugar kind. You can mix it with water to make it lower sugar. I don't dump on sugar so I can drink it okay, but I still mix the regular juices half and half with water so cut the calories. I heard someone else say they put more water in the Crystal Light so it wasn't so sweet. Don't they have decaffeinated tea bags where you live? I know it's hard to find ready made stuff. I go nuts trying to find lower sugar juices here, but I finally just got the regular and mixed enough water in it to make it low sugar. The best of luck to you!
