Has anyone had surgery with Dr Loosmann? A revision with her? She is not too far from me and I'd like something about personal experience with her. I had RNY surgery in 2/02 and lost 100 lbs in a year then started gaining and found out I have an enlarged stoma. Whoopee. I'd appreciate any info anyone has. Thanks a bunch. Nina in Maine

I don't know anything about Dr. Loosmann. I hope you get some feedback. However, I have a question for you. How does one get an enlarged stoma ? Do they know how or why that happened ? best wishes, Kym from NH

Kym -- Anyone can get an enlarged stoma -- you end up with what is essentially a tube from your mouth to the end of your small intestine. And you get hungry. It is not the doctor's fault and it is not the patient's fault -- it just happens. If you start getting and staying hungry, aren't eating carbohydrates but staying hungry, and stop losing weight it's time to think of having an EGD to see what a gastroenterologist sees down there. Mine said my stoma was wide open. Revisions are tricky procedures, that's why I was asking around. Nina in Maine

Christine -- No, I'm talking about Dr. Anita M Loosmann, MD, FRCS, at the Parkland Hospital in Derry. I found info about her on the ASBS site. But I did check out Atlantic Surgical -- that would be even closer -- I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks for the info. Nina in Maine

Hi Nina! I had Dr. Ann Looseman at Parkland Medical Center in Derry @ 16 months ago. There before and after program is wonderful. I have lost a total of 115 lbs from my highest weight of 246. I had open rny w/no complications. Dr. Looseman is very nice, answers all questions, never seems rushed. I had complete faith in her the day of surgery. Also Parkland hospital's staff is wonderful too. Annie Dee
