I am looking for some suggestions on ways to lose the pre weight that is required for my surgeon. I have to lose 25lbs before I can get my surgery date. I have been struggling for months trying to do this. I have all of my other pre op stuff done...classes,testing,etc...I just need to lose this weight!!!! Help

I don't have a date yet, but have lost what they expected. Are you able to get out and walk? Are you eating the right stuff and staying away from the things you shouldn't have? That's all I've done. For example, right after talking with the nutritionist the first time, I went out and bought all whole grain breads, pasta's and stopped drinking diet soda all together. Also, make sure you are drinking the water you're supposed to drink. That's the best I can do for you now. GOOD LUCK!! Cindy

I agree drinking all the water you can helps ALOT. Even if its Crystal Light (I live off the stuff) it reall does make the difference. I lost 30 lbs pre-op.... I woulsd say just be real strict on what you are eating... stay away from the soda totaly and drink all the water you can... hope this helps...

Hi there! I had some troubles losing the preop wieght too. My advice. Stick to it. It is only temporary until you have surgery. Dr Drinkwater made me wait another month becuase I had actually gained 5 lbs. He said he wouldnt operate on me until I was serious. I could have had surgery March 30th. Instead I had to wait until May 10th. It sucked and I was so mad at him. Well, more mad at myself for not trying as hard as I know I could have. This is a lifestyle change. You HAVE to find ways to deal with stress and emotions rather than eating. Start now! Surgery helps, but they dont fix your addiction. I was/am a food addict. Eat less exercise more. THis is thelast "diet" you will be on. Good luck and I guess my advice is to try as hard as you can. It is SO worth it!!! Chris
