Meetings and info.

Hello! My name is Cindy, I am 47, mother of two, step-mother of one, grandmother of four and am anxiously awaiting surgery. No date yet, but have only been in the program since August. The meetings, of which I've been to four now, are very informative. It helps to hear everyone's stories, even the not-so-good things about right after.

Hi Cindy, It seems like you and I are at about the same place - we should buddy up and go through this together. I am 54, have 2 children, 3 step-children, grandmother to one and also anxiously awaiting surgery. I have been to 3 group meetings, 2 nutritionist meetings, (have lost 13.6 lbs. and have another appointment next Wednesday) went for the psychiatric meeting yesterday and sincerely hope I have my 20 pounds gone by next Wednesday. I would love to be able to have the surgery in November or early December. My stepson is getting married Jan. 7 in St. Thomas and I want to feel good by the time for the wedding. The meetings are great and I enjoy hearing everyone's story. Good luck and let's do this together! Barbara

HI Barbara, I was at the meeting this past Wednesday when you volunteered to write on the board for Jenn. Buddying up would be nice. I have virtually no friends out here in NH. I moved here Nov. 2003 when I met my husband. All I do is work and be with him. He's the absolute greatest, and a terrific support to me with all this. Maybe we'll be having surgery around the same time. I go for my Psych Evaluation Tuesday morning at 7, am a little nervous, but I'm sure things will be fine. I go to see Liz, my nutritionist, on Monday afternoon-my 3rd visit to her. I'm hoping I lost at least another 5 to make it 16.7. Dr Drinkwater wanted me to lose 10-15 lbs, so I'm doing great. I'll be at the next meeting on Oct 19 for sure. See you there. Cindy
