My Post Op Visit with Dr. Drinkwater ...
I had my appointment this afternoon and all is well. I had my staples removed from my incisions, and they were replaced by Krazy Glue and some steri-strips to keep my healing wounds clean and dry I'm still not up to driving, ( only 8 days post-op ), but he said sometime within the next week, I'll bend over to pick something up and realize that it no longer hurts my belly.
You know what else hurts right now? Hiccups! I used to get them every day. So, that's nothing new. I do my best not to take in extra air when I eat and drink. I do burp, so I know I'm getting some air, but I'm lucky, because I can, and do ... burp. Some folks get that air trapped in their little bellies and it can cause serious pain. With me ... so far, so good.
I'm only taking my pain meds before bed each night. I still take a nap each day, but I haven't needed my pain meds for several days now, except when I go to bed.
So, here's something a little exciting ...
Since May 26th, I've lost 35 pounds!!! ( in less than 4 months )
Since surgery, one week ago ... I've lost 10 of those pounds.
That's exciting stuff right there, I'll tell ya.
I never thought I'd be happy to be such a loser!!!
