Today...
Hi everyone,
My name is Anne and I live in Manchester. I've lurked about making a post or two. Typically I post this stuff on www.spotlighthealth.com, but well I can't get there today....
Today is my inital meeting at the Obesity Treatment Center at CMC. I choose CMC, because I have worked for and have stayed in the hospital before. Additionally its close to my home.
I am not as panicked today as I was when I actually made the appointment. I've gotten all of my paperwork filled out, photocopied - one for me one for them, and ready to go. I've been documenting everything so far.
I've learned what I needed to do for my insurance, Cigna. I've heard so many horror stories with health insurance, I've just been extra careful.
I've started watching what I eat. Not restricting myself, but making better choices, less fast food, asking myself questions am I still hungry, eating at regular times, getting water in...standard prep stuff anyone whose been in the diet marathon do to get set. I feel like its old hat, that's why I refered to it as a marathon. I know what has to be done to diet, I know what I needs to be done. I've been doing it off and on for 18 years, I ruddy well should. I probably could give the dietian speach better than some dietians.
However, before I sound completely jaded I am open to the experience of learning something new. I am prepared to listen with an open mind. Either way this process will do the one thing that I want - lose weight and gain a life.

I actually live in portland, ME but am going to CMC, and the obesity treatment center. Melanie is great! she has been such a help to me. Dr. Campbell is also great, My first apt. with her i was very impressed.
I am actually going to be Dr. Campbells first Lap-band patient. ! Tomorrow morning at 7:30 ..... I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
