I really like Dr Brown. I wi**** would go faster but that is kinda my fault. I put on a few pounds. So hopefully I am back to where i started with him. Than they will be scheduling the tests i need done. He is great with all the answers you need and The meeting is great as well. I am going to be doing Lap-Band. He is fairly new to this (the Lap band ) But I feel great about it. I am a little ahead of you in the program with him. If you need to chat with someone I dont mind since we are almost in the same process stages.

Hello Jason, My name is Jeff Pellerin and I had my surgery on 05/15/03.... If you have any question I would be sure to help you out as much as I can... I weighed 420 lbs at my highest weight... I had to loose 20lbs before my surgery.. just to make sure that you are commited to doing this... This surgery has changed my life forever (for the best) and I would do it all over again. I have lost a total of 180 pounds... I now weigh around 240-250 up down the same 10 pounds... I got down to 230 at one point but I have gained some back after 2 1/2 years... but I do weigh myself everyday to make sure I will not gain anymore than this...! If you have any questions feel free to email me... or ask them here! I would love to share my story... It took me almost 2 years to decide that I wanted to have the surgery too...! But I did and I am so glad I did!

Hi Jason, My name is Russ and I had a BMI of 63 when I started this process , I chose New England Medical center based on personal preferance, ( them having done 3000 of these operations ). I can't tell you how much this changes your like words can not explain . I started the process on 10/12/04 with my 1st appointment since I had no other medical issues at all I was able to have my operation on 12/13/04 going in my weight was 440lbs today 8 months post op I weigh 230lbs and still dropping around 15 - 20 lbs per month. Having said that I will tell you I walk 5 miles per day under an hour and work out 3 -4 times per week. If anybody tells you this is easy it's not you have to have your head in the right place and be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish your dream, this is a wonderful tool but a tool is all it is. as for the skin we all wish there was a magic bullet for that one! " can you say sharpei " as in wrinkle dog but hey in time another trip to the OR and it's gone!! Obesity help is a great resource to have, all here have walked the walk so we have earned the right to talk the talk, use it !use it! and use it ! you won't regret it . I read what seemed to me to be the true inner most feelings of I'm sure most post op obesity help folkes, I can't remember her name but her quote was : NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS these 7 words I now live with every day and thank the woman who stated them .

Hi Jason! You can also consider going to Portsmouth NH. Their program is great! I can't say anything bad about them. I had surgery by Dr Pachuili and she is wonderful. It may be closer for you living in Rollinsford. I live in Rochester and not only are they great, but it's convenient! Best of luck to you!!! ~Jenn 338/195/165 -143 pounds

Hi Jeffrey, I just had my surgery at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. they have a great record and have done so many procedures. It is rated one of the 10 best hospitals in the country year after year. I was not required to lose any weight. I had to go to one informational meeting, had the consult the next week and was given a date. They only pre-op testing required of me was a blood draw, psych eval (which I did in Manchester) and nutrition eval (1 time). Some people require more tests due to health problems, I am sure. I am thrilled that I chose this hospital, with all their experience and the great reputation, and, if you get the traffic right, it is less than an hour from Manchester on 93, a couple blocks from Fenway Park. Good luck, wherever you choose. Carrie
