No, there is no weigh in. It's a great forum for all pre-ops and post-ops. I have not missed a group since I joined Dr. Drinkwater's program a year ago. I am 5 months post-op and still get so much out of these groups.
Basically, everyone sits in a large circle and there is usually a topic that starts off the meeting and everyone just jumps in with their input and/or questions.
It's a great place to meet other patients and people from here on OH.
Please come over tonight and say "hi".

So can I ask you a question? How long did it take you to go through the whole process pre-op? I feel like I am accomplishing requirements really quick (not that Im complaining!!) According to my scale as of this morning Ive lost 10 lbs already! (you figure I cut soda totally out of my diet, and that accounted for over 2000 calories of my intake a day, so no wonder why its coming right off!) By the time I have my next nutritionists appt I will have 2 meetings under my belt, my psych. eval done (hopefully with no red flags!), hopefully my weight already lost (at this rate it should be!) I just feel like Im cruising right along with everything... Im really excited! Ive been told what usually takes the longest is the weight loss... and if that comes right off then Im wondering how long total it will take me to complete the whole process? Thanks again in advance!
Hi Angela!You are doing great. I think it could take you as little as 3-4 months. They do want to watch and make sure you can keep it off and follow a program. I took over a year because I decided at one point not to have surgery. BUT in December of 2004 I changed my mind and got back in the program. THEN I gained 5 lbs one month and Dr D wqould do it cause I wasnt serious. I was SO MAD!! But I guess it was worth it. I would have loved to had it sooner, but thats alright.
