My first appt.

with Dr. Drinkwater is on July 7th. I am so excited and nervous as well. Im just so glad to be starting the program. I want to cruise the program.... Ive waited too long to start it! I went to the orientation last week and he was awesome. My fiance went with me as well and found it to be very interesting. Dr. D was talking about dumping syndrome... he says "if you think you can go to 7-11 and grab a few twinkies and a big gulp and be fone, your wrong. You will be on the couch for a few hours curled into a ball, and will never ant another big gulp again." My fiance got a kick out of that one lol. But I knew what he meant. I found him to be very thorough and I left with confidence that I can actually do this!

Hi Angela! I am also a patient of the best surgeon in Nw Hampshire; Dr. Drinkwater! I am so happy you chose him! I am 10 months post-op and am doing well, overall. I am struggling a bit to keep weight ON, believe that or not. I have been working closely with Susan in dietary as well as Dr. D. Their aftercare is phenominal and I am so fortunate to have them. I know that I will be okay because of this program. IF it was another program, I wouldn't feel so confident. Thanks Denise! I actually started going to him because of the poeple (like yourself!) on this site recommending him. the 2 meetings this month for him are July 6 and July 20. I come back from vacation on the 6th so if I am back in time then I will be going for sure. Then I will be meeting him the next day. Do you happen to remember what that first meeting with Dr. D consists of? I am kind of nervous... I just dont know what to expect and all. How long is it? BTW you look AWESOME! Do you have some before and after pics? My fiance is just amazed at the difference this makes to people and cant wait for me to have it done as well.

Ok so I just went and looked at your profile... YOU LOOK AWESOME! I remember you from the winter.... I was going to be going to Dartmouth with Dr. Gould. YOU are the reason I looked into Dr. D. THANK YOU!!!! He is so wonderful and I feel like he REALLY understands... I hope to see you at the meeting!

Hi Angela! Your first meeting with Dr. Drinkwater will consist of a 1:1 time with him for him to explain the procedure, answer questions, etc. It is after this visit when things rock and roll. All your dietary appts, psychatry, etc will be scheduled. The time is going to fly, I promise! After the 1:1, he does a presentation to a room full of pre-ops and goes over the surgery in more detail. He is so good! I am thrilled h4e is my surgeon. Hi Angela! Welcome to the Dr D fan club. You are in really good hands. THe program is strict and he doesnt mess around. I had to wait another month cause I wasnt following the pre-op diet. I straightened up and had surgery May 10th 2005. It is NOT easy. But you can do it if you are committed! Good luck and email me anytime you want to! Chris

Thanks, you guys are great!!! did you both go to the meeting last night? I just came back from vacation so I couldnt make it but I would have loved to! I am definately going to the next one, I hope I see you both there!! I appreciate the support.... its good to know I made a great decision in who I am choosing to do my surgery.
