Any suggestions?

Hello! I am trying to find names of doctors in the Portsmouth are who do the lap band surgery. also would like to hear from folks who have had it done, what they thoght of the doctor, etc. I am in Maine....not too many people around dong the lap band. Thanks for any help. Cathy

I dont think anyone in NH does the lapband. There are some in Ma in or near Boston that do it. Good luck! Chris

Cathy, There are several places for lap band surgery in NH. I Have included some info below. Dartmouth-Hitch**** Medical Center (both Lebanon and Manchester at the Elliot Hospital). They require 3 meetings, lab work, gallbladder ultrasound, psychiatric evaluation, dietician concult and 15 lb pre-op weight loss. their web site is www.dhmc.org. Portsmouth Regional Hospital does the surgery as well. http://www.portsmouthhospital.com/ Click on Services, then medical services, and there is a link for bariatric surgery. I have heard that they are really great there. Catholic Medical Center in Manchester has an Obesity Treatment Center (they require 10% loss of excess weight pre-op). http://www.catholicmedicalcenter.org/ St. Joseph's hospital in Nashua - http://www.stjosephhospital.com/.
