Psych. evaluation question

I was wondering if anyone knows of a Psych. Dr. that accepts Medicaid? The one dr. that DHMC referred me to doesnt accept it, and if I can get it done without having to pay for it out of pocket that would be great. Thanks!

I had mine done at Concord Psychiatric in the Pillsbury Bld behaind Concord Hospital. Here's the phone # if you want to ask them (228-7100). I saw Joyce Blood arnp she was reccommended by DHMC and the best part was that I got an appt. within a week. Heidi

woohoo thanks Heidi!!!!! I called them on Friday and they got me an appt for the 25th!!! Thats awesome! I was going to go to the Mental Health Center but couldnt get in until the beginning of April!!! The only thing is is that now my Psych. Eval is before my physical lol. I have that on March 2nd. She wanted my med. records and a list of any meds I am on, and any notes from my physical that might be helpful, but I havent had it done yet. DO you think thats ok or should I have my physical first? Anyways thanks again for the info!!!

Angela they didn't need any records from me. She went online and loked at my bloodwork and I had to tell her all the meds I was on. She asked me about my comorbities too. So if you have any then let them know. Maybe you should call and ask them if the information from the physical is mandatory, because they could probably schedule you after the physical quickly too. Christine, They do not have the wls surgery at Concord hospital. They have it in Manchester and Lebanon that I know of. I started in Manchester and was transferred to Lebanon because my BMI was higher than what Manchester operates on. The program in through the Dartmouth Hitch**** program. Good Luck on your journey. I have my first appt tomorrow with them. It took me 8 months to get to this point. I suggest you go to one of the WLS meetings you can find them online. That is the place to start.

The BMI limit is somewhere around 60 so you should be okay to go to Manchester. Did you find the link to the website?
