:help: Psycological Evaluation

Does anyone have contact info for someone in or around the Concord, NH area for pre-surgery psycological evaluation? Thanks for your help.

Michelle, I would contact your surgeon's office for a recommendation. Our surgeon's office only uses one pyscologist...Jeff Wagner in Portsmouth, NH. He is actually a part of our bariatric team. If your surgeon's office doesn't have a good handle on this I would rethink you're surgeon. The pysch/emotional piece is HUGE! Not as much for pre-op but post-op. If you don't have a good team (dietician, pyscologist, physical therapist, etc) you will not have all the tools to succeed later. Best of luck in your journey!!

I was given the name of Joyce Blood ARNP in the Pillsbury Bldg behind Concord Hosp. I was told she is very knowledged in Gastric Bypass Surgery. I need to make the same call and get mine done too. Heidi Carlson

Hi Michelle. I agree with some of the others. Your surgeons office should have a psycologist on their team to send you to. Someone they already work with, or at least some suggestions. That is what mine did. I think it would be unusual if they didn't because then the psycologist would know exactly what the insurance company and the doctor's office need to proceed. Good luck, Celia
