Anthem & Cigna

It's been posted before so you may know that Anthem BC/BS & Cigna are no longer covering gastric by-pass surgery in NH. It was brought up at the support group I attended last night. According to the program co-ordinator the docs in NH are hoping to appeal this with the state legislators. Hi Diane, Wow, what a bummer this news is! Were there a lot of people at the meeting last night who was directly affected by this? Thank God we had surgery when we did. I feel terrible for these people who had a glimpse of hope and than BAM! Taken away, just like that. How are you feeling? I hope everything is okay with you. I haven't been to the last two meetings and I miss going. I am definitely going to the next one. Hugs, Denise

Not quite sure how many are affected. Jenn said she's working the insurance for those who are. I had originally been thinking that I didn't want to have surgery until this month, after the holidays. Such a good thing that I didn't wait. To have made the decision then have it denied would have been devestating. I'm doing pretty good. I'll probably not be at the next meeting. This year the meetings are scheduled the same days that I have another meeting. So I'll have to split my time between the two. Hope all is well with you. take care diane
