Hi, Phyllis, thank you for contacting me. I am eager to help others because this is not right. If you haven't received a denial letter yet, do not start worrying until you do. A friend of mine had a policy specifically excluding the surgery and was approved first try. There are ways around this if they DO deny you. Let me do some research on United Healthcare as I have been focusing mostly on BCBS of Illinois and Texas. I need to know a bit more about the company before actually giving you advice. Also, do you work for a small company or a corporation? That makes a difference too.
