First Hello Post

Hi, everyone, this is the first time I've said hello. I'm basically waiting for my lawyer to get me approved through BCBS of IL (yes, I'm in NH, it's a job thing), and my surgery will be scheduled. I've gone to heck and back and am ready for good things to happen so I thought I would post and say hello!

Hi Karen, I just read your profile and I can't believe the problems you have had with your insurance company! I don't know how you are staying sane with all of this. Good luck with your fight. To have had so many surgery dates set and then have them cancelled. Insurance is such a racket. Not sure that I'd have your strength to keep up the fight. Go get em... diane

Hi, Diane...I have kids and cats...I must be crazy... Yes, it has been an uphill battle all the way...and I would have quit had it not been for my angel. I got my engagement letter today from the lawyer so I send that back and we are good to go!

Hi Karen, Deb from Connecticut told me to contact you and that you might have some words of wisdom, I am going through the same thing. Here is a copy of the post I posted in CT: Hey everyone! I am in insurance hell right now waiting for approval, however, because of conversations I have had with my insurance company (United Healthcare) I will not be covered. I haven't received an official denial letter yet, but there is an exclusion in my specific policy from work that states "surgical and nonsurgical treatment of obesity, including morbid obesity not included." Bummer!! I haven't given up hope yet, there are still options, just wondering if anyone has been thru this and has any advise or any good words or wisdom. My HR dept said she would help if she could. I work in a pretty big place, I don't think they will change the policy just for me, but I will take her up on her help. Thought I would post to the main board as there might be more people who is going through or has been through this. Thanks in advance for the advice. Phyllis
