Hello fellow New Hampshirites!! (probably not a word or spelled wrong!) lol
I am Celia, and I live in Nashua. I joined this site after I had my surgery and I noticed the NH site is very quiet. I was just reading some posts from May, where a few of you tried to get some interest going, but since no one has posted since then, I thought I would try again. I would really enjoy getting to know other people in NH, especially in the Nashua area. It would be nice to have a walking/exercise buddy. I hope to hear from you guys soon! Someone mentioned it would be nice to have a get together sometime, and I also think that would be a good idea. Lets talk!

Hi Kathy. How are you? Maybe between the two of us, we can get this board at least moving!! I live off of exit 8 in Nashua. What area are you in? I have been here for 4 years now, but since I work in MA, I have an hour drive both ways, so I don't know many people in town! lol Hope to hear back soon. Take care.
Celia
Hi Girls - I am going to join your conversation, even though I am from MA. I am in Pepperell, which is on the border of Hollis. I consider myself more of a NH person since I used to work there, for the City of Nashua, actually (before I became a SAHM) and do all my shopping and entertainment there.
I am currently in Dr Drinkwaters program. He requested I lose 10 pounds before I can go see the psychiatrist - so I am working on that now. I go back on Aug 6 (my birthday) to find out if I did it. I am sure I will.
I go to that park down off Simon Street - and walk the trails. Its so nice and quiet - when I don't bring my kids along. I would LOVE to hear more about your experiences. I am SO impatient waiting for this whole process. Can I ask you how long it was from your initial meeting with Dr Drinkwater until your surgery?
Hope to hear more from you - via email or here on the boards!
Jenn
Hi Jenn. Glad to hear from you. When I first moved to the East coast, I lived in Lowell, MA. Now I live in Nashua, but I still work in N. Andover, MA. The park off of Simon Street you mention, where is that? MA or NH?
My surgeon was Dr. Gould, with the Dartmouth, Hitch**** clinic in Manchester. My regular doctor is with the Southern NH Clinic in Nashua, and he told me about the program in Manchester, so that is where I went to my first informational meeting. From the date of that meeting, it was one year until my surgery. And yes, I was very impatient! However, I had to learn to be patient, because otherwise I would have gone insane during that year! lol I had to lose 20 lbs, attend meetings, and have various appts and tests before I could meet with the surgeon and get a surgery date. I finally had my surgery on 6/14, and I am 5 weeks post op. Things are going well, and I am glad I did it.
I don't know Dr. Drinkwater, but I think when my doctor was giving me the information on the program at DHMC, he also mentioned Dr. Drinkwater. However, once I started at DHMC, I didn't want to do a lot of moving around from doctor to doctor, starting over, etc. As I said, I was impatient, and I was afraid if I started over, it might have taken even longer.
Well, I better hit the sack I guess. Feel free to ask me questions anytime. Either post here or send me an e-mail.
Talk to you soon.
Celia
Hi Celia,
I too am from NH and I have Dr. Gould as a dr. I was wondering what you thought of his office staff. I have been in the process since Jan. 2003. And have had a lot of difficulty with them. I saw dr. Gould for the first time last Thursday and I have a surgery date of 8/30. I am very excited and wish I didn't have to wait 6 1/2 weeks but at least I have a date.
