How long between referral and surgery?

I'm interested in hearing about different people's time frames here in NH. How long after your original referral with your GP did you actually HAVE the surgery? (I know it varies accoridng to insurance and surgery schedules... I'm just looking for the range.) Thanks!!!

Not sure...... I live near Portsmouth and after hearing all the insurance horror stories I will have the open RnY done by a DR in Mexico. He IS a member of the American Bariatric Board and founded a Mexico one...... Learned at the Mayo clinic and has done over 400 surgeries...... DR around here may be good buy to me they are inexperienced...... Will see my PCP next week to inform and use them for follow ups.....

Well for me it took forever and a day because they lost my paper work and everything just seemed to be a mess. But even with all that it was about a year through Dartmouth, although I hear it is much longer now. Good luck!
