What surgeon or hospital?

 Which surgeon and/or hospital did you choose and why? I have people telling pros and cons of different surgeons and hospitals. HELP please

Julie, for me it was where I lived and worked that helped me choose which hospital, and the Dr was the same as my husbands.  There are 3 surgeons in Portsmouth that do bariatric surgery so they are the ones we had to choose from.  I love Dr. Gens, his bedside manner his willingness to answer any and all questions and returning phone calls in the middle of the night.  As a family we had a great experience with him and the Portsmouth program. 

It is all about you, and who you feel comfortable with, do you want a woman Dr?  Where you live is CMC closer do you want after care? do you want meetings?  There are a lot of questions that only you can answer. but feel free to ask away for suggestions or message me if you want to talk privately.  I am sure this isn't any help in your choice but I hope it does help.

I am only a week out of surgery and I had Dr Gens and thought he was great.  I agree his bedside manner is fabulous and he is willing to sit and talk and really answer any questions or concerns.  Also Portsmouth has a great all around program

I had Dr. Gens at Portsmouth hospital.  I started with Dartmouth Hitch**** because it was closer.  Their program is no comparison to Portsmouth's.  I drove extra miles for the extra support.  I don't think many weight loss programs compare to Portsmouth bit I guess you have to decide by what YOU need.  Good Luck!
