Choosing a Surgeon

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to have my surgery done in Portsmouth, hopefully soon! I was wondering if anyone had any advice or feedback on any of the three surgeons that might help me make my decision. I don't have any experience with them aside from the initial info meeting...so I thought I would put it out there and see what kind of responsed I get!

  Both my husband and I used Dr. Gens.  We love him, still do follow up with him.  It is all a personal choice though.  I was very comfortable with him and his manner, how he dealt with my 2 teen age boys through the process.   Are you leaning towards anyone?  Are you more comfortable with a woman or a man?   Nancy or Cindy may be able to help from there as well.  Good luck and welcome to the journey.  It is a wonderful roller coaster ride.

Thanks for the input! Actually I talked to Cindy about it and she said she thinks I would do well with Dr. Gens. I guess he would be the one I am leaning towards at this point.

I also had Dr. Gens, and absolutely loved him.  He was so good with my husband, very patient, and when I left the hospital, he told my husband that his home number was in the phonebook, and if I had any problems to not hesitate to call. 

Like Sookie said though, it is a very personal choice.  I know several people who have had Dr. Petulli (not sure if I am spelling it right) and love her.  The same with Dr. Looser.  But for me, Dr.  Gens was the definate right fit.
