Hi all - I am about 6 months post-op and have about 54 lbs. to go until goal weight. CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO UPDATE MY HEALTH TRACKER THINGIE on my signature so it still says 90 something pounds to go! hmmmm!

Anyway, on October 28 I had my birthday, it was the first time I did not pig out on a big meal and cake to make myself feel good. Instead I had a simple good meal and did a lot of walking on Ogunquit Beach - it was beautiful!

Still working on relationship with food continuously, hit a few stalls and I am learning to stay positive through them. Looking forward to winter hikes and activities. Still working on getting a steady activity schedule. Joined meet-up groups that do walks and hikes and trying to connect with others that walk and hike as well.

Hope everyone is doing well. I can honestly say I have no regrets for taking this step in my life. I am so loving life now, even though I still have more work to do!  - Xico

Way to go!  I am so glad things are going well and you are continuing your weight loss journey.  We all have stalls and you not giving up is such a big part of this journey.  Happy belated Birthday, I hope you have a happy healthy year and look back 1 year from now and see how many changes you have made.

You may be only one person in the world, but to someone you are the world

Congratulations!  Just remember, it's progress, not perfection.  You are so much healthier than you were before.  Give yourself a break every once in a while.  And when you do, give yourself some credit, too!

Hi all I'm having my first meeting with Dr. Looser in a week and a half. Made my goal weight in a month and have lost 12 lbs more. How long do you think it will be till I get my surgery? All my meetings are done and had pre-op testing a week ago.

Hi JODJR, I am sorry I am so late in getting back to you, I don't go on the site much. It took a few months to get everything sorted out for me, and I had to coordinate my work schedule for coverage...but the Atlantic Surgical team and the folks at the Bariatric Clinic at PRH are very good and keep you informed of all the steps and time-lines.

Sometimes it depends on how quickly your insurance company approved the process. The fact that you already meet goal weight and have had pre-op testing is a really good sign that things are moving along for you!  - Xico

Congrats! I will send you positive thoughts for that day! Just remember to try to stay calm and breathe! Also be kind to yourself and take things slow.
