Clothes!
Hey Becca, Glad to see your message..... How are you doing ? Hey, do you ever go to any of the support groups at portsmouth hospital or are you just way too far away..... Just wondering bec' if you do then I should see you there ???
Glad to hear you've gone from a 24/26 to an 18, that's great ! I'm gone down 2 sizes myself, but am only 4 weeks out tomorrow..... but it is empowering ! ! !
I have a question for you, especially being another one of Dr Gens patients ..... I'm 4 weeks out and at stage 4 diet, but I am having a little difficulty finding food appetizing at this point. Most food is not appetizing to me at all and my pouch doesn't ever feel 'normal' , it doesn't hurt or anything 'bad', I would say it mostly feels a bit bloated, or just a little upset..... I have my shake every am, but I have to force it down, at this point I never enjoy any of the many shakes I've got samples of. I can not stomach having any 'soft' foods , like yogurts, cottage cheese etc. Even the foods that I really like now, I usually can't stomach them for the next meal. Most food is just 'turning me off', but I am getting in the protein. I'm just wondering how it is for you at this point since you're a few weeks ahead of me ??? I do get hunger pains but I can deal with it, it goes away once I eat my protein.

I haven't been to a support group meeting yet but I'm hoping to make the next post-op meeting on December 13th. As far as not finding food appetizing, I am still that way for the most part. I'm not getting in as much protein as I should be, but I have found a few things appetizing that you wouldn't expect. I crave spicy things a lot and have been eating a lot of salsa verde ha ha. And by a lot I mean maybe a 1/4 cup at a time. I try to throw my Nectar medical protein in anything I can just to get that extra boost but I know it is taking it's toll because I am already starting to lose my hair. Taking it one day at a time though. I usually dont get the sick feeling just the I'm not hungry, can't think about eating feeling. Don't know as if I'm much help to you now, but maybe I'll see you at the next post-op meeting.
