I made it to the loosers side

Dr. Looser did my RNY on Friday and I came home yesterday.  Since I started my official weigh in I was 251 and now am at 223.  My goal is 138.

Anyway, my question is about Dannon Light and Fit yougurt.  I had my husband go get these for me since it was on the list, but looking at the sugar, I wonder if it is okay.  It says 11g sugar.  Is that okay?  the flavor is strawberry banana - I wonder if different flavors have different sugar amounts.

I am confused - is there a sugar amount we should stay under at this point.  I just bought it based on the list I got when discharged and the info in our blue book.

Thanks

I believe that for things like yogurt and fresh fruit the sugar grams we are 'allowed' are a little higher at 12g. That being said however, being so soon out of RNY you may not want to pu**** Greek yogurt (plain) has less sugar in it and you can add spenda and such to it to sweeten it up (which it needs.... desperately!)
But, these are things you should have to worry about for a while.... aren't you in the midst of the 2 weeks of shake hell?

Welcome to the losers side!

thanks.

yup, I'm drinking 3 shakes per day and it also says Im supposed to have one of the approved snacks in addition to the shakes (cream soup, yogurt, and bunch of other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head and I don't want t get up up and look . ) I don't know if I can eat all that!  I'm having trouble getting all 8 oz. of the shake down in 1 hr.  Not cause I get sick, just full and/or tired and fall asleep.  I'm a wicked lightweight when it comes to pain meds

I'm just moving to stage 4 of the diet, however a couple of things that I was able to tolerate well for the "snacks" were the 1/2 cup of egg beaters scrambled eggs, sf pudding, I have been able to eat the Walmart "light" yogurt which has 12g of sugar too.  FF refried beans with a little egg beaters and melted shredded mozarella cheese is what I had last night and it was awesome!  Here's a question for others out there though, has anyone found that they can eat egg beaters but have an intolerance to regular eggs?  I made egg salad yesterday and got really sick.  I forced myself to not throw up because I was afraid it would hurt too much but I totally could have, cold sweats, it was awful.  I'm just trying to pinpoint if I got sick from the eggs or the light mayo w/olive oil?  It is too bad because I love egg salad but I may have to start mixing my tuna, chicken, egg salads with greek yogurt or a bit of sour cream instead of mayo.  Thanks and I hope this helps.

I have stayed below 10g for sugar, I do use the Greek yogurt because of the amount of protein in it.  it has 18g compared to the 6-8 in regular yogurt.  Add splenda it is gross plain.  unless you like sour cream.  I am glad you made it and look for eggface. com she has some good shake recipes.

Welcome to the losers bench and hope to catch up with you soon!

You can also mix that greek yogurt with SF jelly or a bit of your favorite crystal lite to flavor it!  It is also good on those FF refried beans plain to act as sour cream.  Lots of luck!

So, I feel liek I'm going to puke everytime I smell a protein drink except SFCIB premixed chocolate.  I have been doing 2 SFCIB and 1 serving f greek yougurt plain with splenda and frozen raspberries blended up.  You guys think that is okay that I am not doing 3 drinks a day?

Jeff said we have to think outside the box and make sure we get the protein in and so this is how I seem to be able to do it.

I have some unjury packets coming in the mail (hopefully today) so maybe they will be more tolerable.

oh, and soy milk - no go.  it smells nasty.
