IDK what's wrong with me?
I don't know why I hear I have to lose 10 lbs and I simply cannot do it. I'm a SAHM of a 9 yr old and 2 two yr old twins and you would think I'd be super busy and moving my ass around alot and can lose 10 lousy ass pounds! I've been up and down for months to make this work! I don't eat when I'm suppose too, or when I do there's nothing in my house I can eat that's decent for me or something that makes sense to eat. It's summer time with all the running around we are doing there's so much going out to eat, or the stuff in my fridge goes bad because we didn't eat it in time. Or there's only so much left and no money until pay day to do another grocery, so what's healthy and edible I give to my kids and I'll be ok with a peanut butter and Jelly sandwhich or tater tots and chicken nuggets! I really don't want that but it is what it is and IDK what to do about it! I thought this summer was going to be so much easier for me. With being outdoors, swimming etc. NOOOO I find myself craving the hell out of ice cream and there's nothing in the house, no candy, no chocolate nothing. OH But I somehow managed to find the container of FLUFF in the cabinet and helped myself to at least 5 heaping spoonfuls of it to satisfy my sugar craving. This isn't good! I've done all my paper work and dr appts, psych evals in January too etc. The Dr will be 100% covered and all I have to do is drop the 10 lbs then I can schedule to MEET with the surgeon. Who knows how long that will be just to meet him!
Sorry I just had to vent. I wish I could on my facebook page but almost everyone that reads my stuff on there thinks what I'm doing is either ok or rediculous!

I don't think there is anything wrong with you that isn't wrong with a lot of us. Especially those of us with a young family. It would be easier to eat well if it weren't so expensive. I was fortunate enough to lose the requisite amount of weight but crushed when my appointment with the surgeon was booked seven weeks out. I need to keep my weight in chec****il then. losing it was one thing but not gaining it back will be even harder. I have also been told that the surgery date will likely be a month out from the day I see the surgeon. I don't know how long I can maintain this. If I could do this through sheer will power I wouldn't be having surgery! Best of luck. you are not alone!

First, there is nothing wrong with you! Second, take a deep breath, slow down, and regroup. Okay, now let's tackle your problem.
1. There are all kinds of things out there that you and kids can eat, that would not cost you any more money than you are spending now. A healthy alternative to chicken nuggets and tater tots...try breading your own chicken and baking it, serve it with fat free ranch dressing, or even catsup. Tater tots can be substituted by baked potato slices, just cut up potatoes (regular or sweet), you can cut them in cubes or slices, add some olive oil and favorite seasoning. I like cajon spice rubs or barbaque spices. Bake them until they are brown. Both of these cook up in about a half an hour, and can be reheated or even eaten cold. Sugar free jello or sugar free/fat free puddings, sugar free popsicles, and frozen fat free yogurt are also great. You can even make your own pudding pops with the fat free sugar free pudding. You would be very surprised what young children will eat given the opportunity. My 4 year old grandson loves salmon! He also likes haddock, tilapia and shrimp. Tilapia is a wonderful lower price alternative to other fish. What about tuna for lunch, or egg salad. Cheese sticks, celery with peanut butter, protein bars, protein shakes. Why do you even have fluff in the house??? There is so much more that you could buy that costs the same or less. You just have to look for it.
2. Exercise is so easy with little kids. Go out and play baseball, or kick a ball around the yard. Take a walk, blow bubbles, go to the neighborhood pool or lake, run through a sprinkler. You would be amazed at how happy they will be that you are doing things with them.
3. Set a timer to remind you to eat. I bet you have a cell phone, and there is an alarm on the cell phone. USE IT! You don't have to eat a lot, just a small snack or meal. Use a small plate, a baby spoon, a baby fork...yup I bet you have those around the house! Make meal time a happy time, sit down, make the time to eat.
4. STOP MAKING EXCUSES. Yup, now I am going to be hard on you. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. You can do this if you think you can. Cut out the nonsense, and start talking to yourself in a positive manner. If you find yourself craving something, chose the alternative. Or you can say no! Ask yourself, is it easier to make excuses and say that you can't do this than it is to just say no, walk away, and take your kids for a walk, or read a book if they are napping, or turn on Comcast and tune to the exercise channel and do a workout? Stop and think, then do. It is hard for all of us to lose weight, but it is even harder to continue to lose weight and keep it off after the surgery. This is not a magic switch, you still have to work at it, eat right, exercise, make good choices. But you need to start now in order to have your surgery be a success.
So if you have read this far, you are ready to make changes. If you haven't, well, I can only hope that you do read all of this at one point. As my mom would say....
**** or get off the pot....make a choice NOW!!!
Let me know what decision you made.
