A Brand New Challenge
I have had many changes happen these last two weeks, and I am very excited, nervous, and scared!
I decided last September to look for another job, but to be a little picky with what I was looking for. Well, the opportunity arose for me to apply for a position with a four-lawyer firm in Concord. They practice the area of law that I currently work and love - probate and estate planning/elder law. I faxed my resume over on March 19th, was called for an interview for March 24, was called for a second interview 15 minutes after I arrived home from my first interview. That interview took place on Monday, March 29. I left their office at 11:30, went home, and then to work. At 2:00 I received an email requesting my references. One by one, they called me to tell me that they had been contacted. At 4:00 I was offered the position. Talk about a whirlwind! I gave my notice to my employer of 13 1/2 years Tuesday morning. I don't think the reality of what I did really hit all of us until Wednesday.
There were many factors going into my decision, but I think the biggest was for the first time in my life, I felt I needed and deserved more. I have never put my needs before everybody else's. This job is going to allow me to grow, make more money eventually (:-) hopefully), and also removes me from a very unhealthy environment that I am, and have been in for several months.
So on May 3, I will join the law firm of Flood, Sheehan & Tobin, in Concord. YEAH!!!!
