Doing it right?

I guess I'm doing this right. Noon, I've been up and about the house, had my previced, 1 multi, 1 calcium, 2 protein, and about a quart of water.  Oh, and a nap! Taking pain med as needed. Finding if I take it it's easier to move around. Had surgery Tuesday, came home yesterday. So, all you vets out there, does this sound like a pretty good first morning home? Am I doing this right? I am assuming the more I heal the more I will feel like getting up and doing?  Thanks all, SO happy to be a loser!!!   Cindy

Hi Cindy, Congrats on making it to the Loser's bench.

You don't mention any food, I would think you are on liquids right now so try to get in some broth, protein shakes or jello. You seem to have been able to drink alot of water, that's great but are you doing small sips all day? Don't gulp it, sip sip sip only. Did you crush the vitamins and meds? I know I couldn't take them whole they had to be a liquid or crushed...if you can get the liquid for them do because some of the Rx meds taste nasty crushed.
Just remember as long as you are on pain meds no driving on your own...

Every day will get better and better...congrats again and best wishes for a speedy recovery....Laurie

Sounds like you are doing it right.

Yes, the first two weeks were hardest, very tired!

I am just over 8 weeks out and feel like a million bucks!

Thanks Julie!  Good to know.  I really don't feel bad, still sore somewhat, but tired, wow! Get out of bed and drink a CIB and I'm ready for a nap!! LOL  I did come down with a UTI in the hospital and am on a antibiotic so there's that too. All that being said, I am so happy!! Would do it again in a heartbeat!  Cindy
