Kind of annoyed...venting
Hi everyone,
I know I can vent here so I am.
We had a party at my house yesterday for my brother and his family who are moving to CA soon. There were about 30 people. I think I got, "you are done losing weight, right?" from every single person. Or, "have you lost more weight?" My brother even made the comment, "borderline anorexic." He didn't look me in the eye when he said it, he was sitting accross the table from me. I was quite offended by that. My God, when I got married, I was 15lbs less than what I am now and I didn't get comments like that. I showed them all my before pic and said, "you are all so use to seeing me like that." I guess I'm just sick of defending myself with regards to my weight. I work hard to maintain this goal weight that I am at. It irritates me that others make comments. The best comment was from my sister in law..."what do I have to do to look like you and not have 'that' surgery?" Please! It's not like I just had the surg. either and none of them have seen me throughout the last 18 months.
Thanks for letting me vent. I know some of you have similar stories and know how I feel.

OMG! I am there with you! The biggest one is how can I do THAT withOUT doing THAT. Like I commited some crime having surgery. And suddenly...because I did the band..means I have ZERO knowledge of dieting. Sorry..kind of the expert on dieting. Whateva...so tired of people and their issues. NOW I feel like I have to hide the plastics to take off extra skin...you would think I was on the Extreme Makover because I need skin removed. People and their issues..so over it. And I am with ya hunny. Just ignore the ignorance! And the best part..the biggest whiners are the ones that only need to lose 20lbs....again..so over it! Thank goodness I have some friends that would never do that to me..the rest can take a hike.
Hi there,
Just had to chime in to say I have the same thing going on. I've tried several responses and some have worked and some people will not give it up. It's frustrating for me with those relationships that have value. Others - I reply how ever it suits me at the moment. I am sometimes silly and sometimes abrupt. For those who have repeatedly crossed the line - they get what they get. No apologies. Treading

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the support.
Luckily I probably won't have to hear the negative comments until the next family gathering.
I did get a compliment yesterday. I am in the process of becoming a certified Jazzercise instructor and got up on stage with my instructor to do 1 routine. After class one of the other women asked if I use to be an athlete. I said no, but thanks for the compliment. Of course she doesn't know I had GBS, but just the fact that she said that made my day!
