On The Road to Recovery

I had surgery on Tuesday the 26th. I advanced with my meal plan and was able to get discharged a day early. I just had some questions for the people who have had the gastric bypass. I'm haven't been able to drink/eat the required 8 oz of instant carnation breakfast, and the glasses of water. I'm only able to do half of the required. Is this normal?? I just feel like I'm full and I don't want to experience getting sick..... I just know that will not be a good sign. A bit painful is what I'm thinking. Does anyone have suggestions. I want to make sure that I'm getting what I should be to recover the way I should.

I just kept on sipping on the protein drin****il it was gone, then waited the half hour and started in on the water drinks.  Keep drinking the waters until 1/2 hour before your next "meal" and repeat from the beginning.  Eventually you will be able to drink all the drink in the half hour 45 minutes recommended.  Good Luck

Congratulations on your surgery!  It's crazy to think that you are pretty much sipping on either water or CIB all the time, but that's the only way to get it all in.  I carry a water bottle with me wherever I go.  If I don't have it with me, I forget to drink it.  I've pretty much taken out stock in Crystal Light so I can have different flavors and don't feel like I'm having yet another glass of plain water.
Good luck during your recovery.
